LAKE CHARLES, La. – Stony Brook's baseball team fell 18-2 to host McNeese State on the opening day of the 2017 season and the first game of the Lake Area Classic on Friday night at Joe Miller Ballpark.

Cody Clarke (Royersford, Pa.) collected a pair of hits, including a double, in his Stony Brook debut, while RF
Casey Baker (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) scored a run, drove in a run and singled in the loss.
Turning Point
McNeese State plated four runs on one hit in the bottom of the first inning highlighted by a two-out, three-run triple to take the early lead. The Cowboys then posted two more runs in the second and four in the fourth to pull away.
