SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Senior 1B
Casey Baker (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) had three hits, including a solo home run, but the Stony Brook baseball team fell 12-4 to host UCSB at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Toby Handley (Whitby, Ontario), freshman DH
Michael Wilson (Colonia, N.J.) and freshman 3B
Nick Grande (Smithtown, N.Y.) each had two hits apiece, while sophomore
C Sean Buckhout (West Nyack, N.Y.) added a two-run double for the Seawolves (4-11).
The Gouchos (6-10) plated seven runs in the first inning and tacked on five more in the eighth inning.
Sophomore RHP
Bret Clarke (Royersford, Pa.) settled down after a rough first inning and retired eight straight batters. He tossed five innings and struck out a season-high five.
Turning Point
UCSB jumped out early with seven runs in the first inning on five hits, including three doubles.
Quoting head coach Matt Senk
"Between their (UCSB) two big innings we played solidly. We have to do a better job of minimizing those big innings and these tough loses will start turning into hard fought wins."
