STONY BROOK, N.Y.  – The Stony Brook baseball team opens a nine-game homestand on Tuesday when they welcome Manhattan to Joe Nathan Field for a 3:30 p.m. scheduled first pitch.
 
The Seawolves (5-12) are coming off a four-game swing to California where they faced Pepperdine and UCSB, while Manhattan (3-11) dropped two of three games in the Strike Out Cancer Tournament at Seton Hall this past weekend.
 
Scouting the Seawolves
	- Head coach Matt Senk picked up his 750th career victory with Stony Brook's 7-0 win at UCSB on Sunday.
- Stony Brook enters the week with a .253 team batting average and a 6.52 team ERA.
- Senior CF Toby Handley (Whitby, Ontario) is climbing up the Stony Brook Division I record book in a few career categories and enters the week ranked tied for fourth in career triples with 12, fifth in stolen bases with 40 and sixth in walks with 83. Fellow 1B/RF Casey Baker (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) is also tied for sixth in triples with 11 and tied for ninth in walks with 70.
- Stony Brook as a team is 15-17 in stolen base attempts, including a perfect 5-5 by freshman DH Michael Wilson (Colonia, N.J.).
Scouting the Jaspers
	- Manhattan, a member of the MAAC, is 3-11 overall this season , but have yet to play a home game.
- The Jaspers enter the week with a .238 team batting average and a 6.31 team ERA.

Stony Brook and Manhattan meet for the seventh time on the diamond. The Seawolves own a 5-1 series lead, including three straight wins.
