STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Coming off the series win over Hartford this past weekend, the Stony Brook baseball team continues its homestand when they welcome America East Conference rival UAlbany to Joe Nathan Field for a three game series this weekend.
The Seawolves (8-13, 2-1 AE) and Great Danes (8-9, 1-2 AE) will square off in a doubleheader at Noon on Saturday and play a single game at Noon on Sunday.
Scouting the Seawolves
- Stony Brook enters the weekend with a .259 team batting average and a 6.08 team ERA.
- Senior CF Toby Handley (Whitby, Ontario) is climbing up the Stony Brook Division I record book in a few career categories and enters the week ranked tied for third in career triples with 12, third in stolen bases with 44 and sixth in walks with 89. Fellow senior 1B/RF Casey Baker (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) is also tied for third in triples with 12 and seventh in walks with 75.
- , along with junior LF Andruw Gazzola (Coram, N.Y.) both enter the week riding four-game hitting streaks, while sophomore 2B Brandon Janofsky (Jackson, N.J.) has hit safely in three straight games.
