Handley's two hits, including HR, not enough as Seawolves fall to UCF

ORLANDO, FLA. – Senior CF Toby Handley (Whitby, Ontario) had two hits, including a solo home run, but the Stony Brook baseball team fell to UCF on Saturday night 8-4 in the second game of the series at the UCF Baseball Complex.

For the second straight night the Seawolves (1-7) jumped out early and held a three run lead entering the fourth inning after they plated two runs in the second and another in the third. Handley's home run, the second of his career, came in the fifth inning to tie the score again.

The Knights (10-1) remained unbeaten at home and scored four runs in the fourth inning to take their first lead of the game. UCF retook the lead in the sixth inning with a single run and expanded on it with a pair of runs in the seventh and added an insurance run in the eighth.

Turning Point
After Handley tied the score back up with his home run in the fifth inning, UCF retook the lead for good one inning later with a pair of doubles in the sixth.

Quoting Head Coach Matt Senk
"Despite jumping out to a three run lead again tonight we allowed them a big inning and unfortunately couldn't add on to our lead."
