STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Freshman DH
Michael Wilson (Colonia, N.J.) and graduate 1B
Cody Clarke (Royersford, Pa.) each collected three of Stony Brook's 11 hits, but the Seawolves couldn't hold off the hot bats of Yale in a 13-3 loss on Wednesday afternoon at Joe Nathan Field.
For the second consecutive day Wilson homered in his first at bat and added a pair of singles, while Clarke had three singles. Freshman RHP
Greg Marino (Centereach, N.Y.) was a bright spot on the mound of the Seawolves (2-9). He tossed scoreless 5.1 innings and allowed just two hits.
Turning Point
Yale sent 11 batters to the plate in the ninth inning and broke the game open with eight runs on six hits.
Quoting Associate Head Coach Joe Pennucci
"When you get 11 hits and score just three runs, that's hard to do. We couldn't get a big hit and they (Yale) did."
