POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – A change of venue didn't make a difference for the Stony Brook baseball team on Tuesday afternoon as the Seawolves continued their road trip and continued to swing the hot bats in a 9-2 victory over Marist at McCann Field.
The Seawolves (16-14) banged out 10 hits to extend the winning streak to eight straight games, including three hits each by sophomore 2B
Brandon Janofsky (Jackson, N.J.) and senior CF
Toby Handley (Whitby, Ontario).
Junior LHP
Kevin Kernan (Mahopac, N.Y.) improved to 3-0 on the mound this season after he went 5.0 innings and allowed just one run on five hits and struck out four Marist (15-12).
Turning Point
Stony Brook jumped out early with four runs on seven hits over the first three innings of the game. The Seawolves plated a run in the first, two in the second and a single run in the third.
Quoting Head Coach Matt Senk
"Good to see our offense pick up where we left off the past several games. That along with solid pitching, defense and base running allowed us to earn today's win"
