STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Stony Brook football senior LT Timon Parris (Floral Park, N.Y.) was selected to the 2017 Athlon Sports FCS preseason All-American team, it was announced by the media publication on Wednesday. 

Parris, a 2016 second team STATS All-America and first team All-CAA Football selection, anchored the Seawolves' offensive line that cleared the way for an offense that rushed for 152.3 yards per game with 17 touchdowns. Parris has started all 33 games during his career at Stony Brook.

The Seawolves open the 2017 season on Sept. 2 at USF in Raymond James Stadium. Stony Brook will host Sacred Heart on Sept. 16 in the home opener at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
