ORONO, Maine – Stony Brook women's soccer dropped its 2017 America East opener, 1-0, at Maine on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Seawolves fall to 4-7-0 (0-1-0 AEC) so far this season.
Quoting Head Coach Brendan Faherty
"A disappointing result for our group, but full credit to Maine as they were very organized defensively and good on attacking restarts. We created a few quality chances, but at the end of the day, we weren't creative enough in the attacking third to score a goal. We will get back to work with training Tuesday morning and focus on getting a positive result on Thursday against UMass Lowell."
Final: Maine 1, Stony Brook 0
