Stony Brook, N.Y. – Stony Brook women's soccer fell at Columbia, 2-0, on Friday evening at Commisso Soccer Stadium in non-conference action. With the loss, the Seawolves are now 2-5-0 (0-0-0 AEC) so far in 2017.

"I'm disappointed for our student-athletes tonight as I thought we played very well at times, and deserved more from the game. Though there were many positives from the game, there are still areas we need to grow in. We are focused on getting better and look forward to another opportunity to earn a positive result on Thursday against Hofstra."

- Stony Brook recorded nine shots (six on goal), the program's fourth-highest shot total of the season. The Seawolves have recorded 86 shots in the first seven game of the season.
- Sofia Manner (Helsinki, Finland) made three saves in net for the Seawolves in the loss, giving her 26 stops for the year.
- Sam Goodwin (Westbury, N.Y.) attempted a team-high three shots. She's attempted nine shots in the first seven games of the season.
- Rachel Alexander got Columbia on the board 27:36 into the first half, blasting one into the back of the net from the left side of the box for her second goal of the season.
- Natalie Neshat scored Columbia's second goal, finding the ball in a crowd of players inside the box and sneaking it into the back of the net at 65:36.
