STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook women's basketball begins a three-game road trip on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Albany for an America East matchup at 2 p.m.
Last Time Out
- The Seawolves earned their third conference win of the season on Wednesday night at Island Federal Credit Union Arena, besting UMass Lowell by the final score of 59-50.
- Jerell Matthews (Chicago, Ill.) led the offensive charge for Stony Brook, scoring 17 points on 8-of-16 shooting. The junior knocked down one 3-pointer and added four rebounds and one assist.
- Shania Johnson (Frederick, MD.) tallied 13 points, a team-high seven assists and four rebounds. The junior shot 4-of-15 from the floor, knocking down two 3-point shots of her own.
- Cheyenne Clark (Deptford, N.J.) added 11 points and 16 rebounds – her second-highest rebound total of the season. The junior went 3-of-9 from the field, knocking down a team-best five free throws.
- Stony Brook out-rebounded UMass Lowell 45-29, grabbing 21 offensive rebounds in the winning effort.

- Albany is 18-3 so far this year, entering play with a conference-best 7-1 record in league action.
- Stony Brook fell vs. Albany, 72-68, earlier this season at Island Federal Credit Union Arena. Shania Johnson (Frederick, MD.) recorded a career-high 25 points, adding six assists and five rebounds in the loss.
- The Great Danes are led by Jessica Fequiere, who has posted 18.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game so far in 2017-18.

Head Coach Caroline McCombs
- Caroline McCombs is in her fourth season as the head coach of the Stony Brook women's basketball team in 2017-18, as the Seawolves' head coach has risen among the winningest coaches in Stony Brook's Division I era.

Preseason Poll
The Seawolves were selected to finish No. 8 in the 2017-18 America East Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference on Oct. 19, 2017. Stony Brook received 16 total votes in the poll. New Hampshire was voted as the unanimous league favorite, garnering 64 total votes.
