STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook men's soccer team (8-5-2, 5-1-0 AE) concludes regular season play by hosting UMBC on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. from LaValle Stadium.

Senior Night
The Seawolves will honor their two graduating seniors on Wednesday night: Serge Gamwanya (Trondheim, Norway) and Martieon Watson (Vessigny, Trinidad).

Last Time Out
  • The Seawolves are coming off a 6-0 win over Hartford on Friday night, clinching at least a share of the America East Regular Season Title.
  • Five different Seawolves scored in the victory: Gamwanya, Jarred Dass (Marabella, Trinidad), Gustavo Fernandes (West Babylon, N.Y.), Gabriel Fernandes (North Babylon, N.Y.) and Matias Prando (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.).
  • The Seawolves' six goals were their most in a game since 1995, when they beat Old Westbury, 13-0.
Scouting UMBC
  • The Retrievers sit at 9-5-2 (3-3-0 AE) coming into LaValle, most recently falling to Albany, 2-0 on Saturday night.
  • Prior to their loss to Albany, UMBC was riding a six-game unbeaten streak.

  • Retrievers' head coach Pete Caringi is in his 28th season at the helm. He is currently 292-176-72 in his career in Baltimore County.
  • UMBC was picked fifth in the America East preseason poll.
Playoffs
  • The Seawolves were the first team to clinch a berth to the America East Tournament. They have already clinched a quarterfinal round bye, and can lock up the No. 1 seed with a win on Wednesday.
Offensive Machine
  • Stony Brook has scored 25 goals this season, second-most in the America East.

  • The Seawolves have tallied 23 assists so far this season, third-best in the America East.
Gamwanya, Miesch Collect America East Weekly Honors
  • Gamwanya and freshman goalkeeper Christian Miesch (Brig, Switzerland) both received weekly honors after topping Hartford. Gamwanya picked up his third America East Offensive Player of the Week Award of the senior while Miesch was named America East Rookie of the Week.

  • Watson's six assists put him in a tie for second in the America East in that category.
  • Miesch's four shutouts are good for a tie for second in the conference.
  • Gamwanya has 15 points this season, putting him fourth in the America East.
