PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Despite outscoring Rutgers in the second half, the Stony Brook women's basketball team dropped the season opener to the Scarlet Knight, 61-47, at the Rutgers Athletic Center on Friday afternoon.
McCOMBS REACTION
"Our team played hard. We came out in the second half with a different mentality. I like where are and I know we have a lot of improvements to make, but Rutgers is a very good team and they challenge you to do things offensively that make it hard to score. They will help us get better because of that. We are going to learn from this game and players are really motivated to get better."
