Seawolves can't hang on to get the series sweep at Nicholls

THIBODAUX, LA. – Despite owning a 5-0 lead early, the Stony Brook baseball team fell short of getting the series sweep over host Nicholls with Monday night's 14-7 loss at Didier Field.

Sophomore RF Michael Wilson (Colonia, N.J.) and freshman SS Michael Palazzolo (Dix Hills, N.Y.) and freshman CF Cristian Montes (Pacoima, Calif.) all collected a pair of hits in the loss. Wilson also drove in two runs. Junior DH Brandon Alamo (Artesia, Calif.) belted his second home run of the season for the Seawolves (3-1).

Turning Point
Nicholls, which trailed 5-0 in the fourth inning, posted three runs in the bottom of the fourth and put up six runs on five hits in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead for good.

Quoting head coach Matt Senk
"We put ourselves in position to have a great weekend, but unfortunately came up short tonight. However, the series was overall a very, very good start to the season and the team is looking forward to next weekend at Norfolk State."
