Stony Brook Drops Game 1 to Wagner; Second Game Suspended Due to Darkness

STONY BROOK, N.Y.  – The Stony Brook baseball team dropped the first game of the three-game series to Wagner on Saturday afternoon 14-6 at Joe Nathan Field, while game two was suspended due to darkness with Wagner leading 6-2 in the top of the 7th inning.
 
Game two will resume at 12 p.m. on Sunday prior to the start of the third and final game of the series.

Game One Turning Point ?
Wagner jumped out of the gate early with three runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back.
 
Notes/Stats
  • Stony Brook recorded two doubles on Saturday and has now his 32 this season. That puts the Seawolves ranked seventh in doubles per game in the NCAA stats.
  • Sophomore 1B Chris Hamilton (Schenectady, N.Y.) hit his first home run of the season and the second his career in the third inning.
  • Hamilton also drove in a pair of runs and had two hits for his second multi-hit game of the season.
  • Sophomore SS Nick Grande (Smithtown, N.Y.) posted a pair of hits on Saturday for his third multi-hit game of the season.
  • Junior C Sean Buckhout (West Nyack, N.Y.) had two hits for his third multi-hit game of the season.
