Stony Brook was Unable to Mount Comebacks on Sunday against Wagner

STONY BROOK, N.Y.  – The Stony Brook baseball team was unable to mount a comeback on Sunday afternoon and dropped a 7-3 decision in game three of the series to visiting Wagner at Joe Nathan Field.
 
The Seawolves (7-7) also fell 7-2 in the completion of game two against the Seahawks (7-8).

Game Two Turning Point ?
Wagner scored three unearned runs in the top of the first and was unable to hold off the Seawolves to get the second win of the series.  
 
Game Three Turning Point
The Seahawks scored in each of the second, third and fourth innings to take a 7-0 lead on Stony Brook.
 
Notes/Stats
  • Stony Brook recorded six doubles over the three games with Wagner and has now hit 36 this season. That puts the Seawolves ranked seventh in doubles per game in the NCAA stats.
  • Senior RHP Aaron Pinto (West Covina, Calif.) tossed 3.0 innings and allowed just one hit and struck out five to improve his season-long scoreless streak to 11.0 innings.
  • Senior INF Bobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.) had a pair of hits in game two and has now recorded five multi-hit games this season.
  • Freshman INF Michael Palazzolo (Dix Hills, N.Y.) belted his first career home run in the third inning of game two.
  • Senior LHP Teddy Rodliff (Quincy, Mass.) pitched 0.2 on an inning in game two in his 64th career appearance, the fifth most in school history.
  • Junior OF Cristian Montes (Pacioma, Calif.) collected two hits in game three and now has two multi-hit games this season.
