Seawolves Fall to Manhattan Despite Successful Outing by Turcotte

STONY BROOK, N.Y.  – Sophomore RHP Sam Turcotte (Toronto, Ontario) made his return to the mound on Tuesday afternoon for the Stony Brook baseball team and tossed 3.0 scoreless innings in his first start of the season, but the Seawolves fell to visiting Manhattan 12-3 at Joe Nathan Field.
 
Turcotte, who had been recovering from injury, allowed just one hit and struck out three in his three innings of scoreless work for the Seawolves (9-9). 
 ?
Turning Point
Manhattan (8-10) was able to take the lead for good with two runs in the sixth inning and was able to hold off Stony Brook before breaking the game open with an eight-run ninth inning.

Quoting Head Coach Matt Senk
"It was a close game until that last half inning. I was happy to see Sam Turcotte get back out there. We had chances to score and for eight innings it was a tight ball game."
