STONY BROOK, N.Y.  – Junior LF Dylan Resk (Ardsley, N.Y.) two-run, two-out double down the left field line in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Stony Brook baseball team the lead in game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader and the Seawolves held on for the 9-8 victory to claim the America East Conference series against visiting UMass Lowell at Joe Nathan Field.

The Seawolves (15-10, 4-2 AE) dropped game one of the DH on Saturday 6-5 to the River Hawks (10-14, 3-3 AE).

Senior LHP Cole Creighton (Levittown, Pa.) earned the victory in game 2 of the day with 2.0 hitless innings of work in relief.

Sophomore SS Nick Grande (Smithtown, N.Y.) collected a total of four hits in the two games on Saturday with two hits in each game. He extended his multi-hit game streak to seven in a row and is now hitting a team-high .388 for the season.

Game One Turning Point
Stony Brook jumped out to a 5-1 lead thanks to home runs by freshman C John Tuccillo (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) and Grande, but UML clawed their way back into the game with four runs in the top of the sixth inning and plated a single run in the eighth inning to cap the comeback.

Game Two Turning Point
The Riverhawks took a 7-3 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning before the Seawolves tied the score with four runs on just two hits. UML retook the lead with a single run in the top of the sixth before Resk's two-run double in the eighth for Stony Brook.

Quoting Head Coach Matt Senk
