STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook baseball team dropped both ends of an America East Conference doubleheader to visiting UMBC on Saturday afternoon at Joe Nathan Field.
The Seawolves (20-17, 6-8 AE) fell 9-2 in game one, while the Retrivers (13-19, 6-4 AE) won 3-1 in game two.

UMBC posted six runs on six hits to take a 6-2 lead, one they would be able to hold for the rest of the game.

After Stony Brook took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth, UMBC's leadoff hitter AJ Wright sent a pitch over the left field fence with one on and one out in the top of the fifth inning to give the Retrievers a 2-1 lead.

- Sophomore SS Nick Grande (Smithtown, N.Y.) swiped one base on Saturday for his 23rd stolen base of the season to move him into third on Stony Brook's single-season list.
- Senior 3B Bobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded two hits in game two of Saturday for his team-leading 15th multi-hit game of the season.
- Freshman C John Tuccillo (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) had two hits in game two on Saturday for his sixth multi-hit of the season.
