HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.– The Stony Brook volleyball team was unable to get by Hofstra losing in three sets. Stony Brook sits at 2-2 on the year, while Hofstra moves to 3-1.

"Defensively we were not as locked in as we needed to be against a very powerful Hofstra offense. While our offensive numbers were a bright spot, it was an uncharacteristic night for us on the other side of the ball. We have a quick turnaround as we head to Akron this weekend."

McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) notched 14 kills in the defeat.

LeAnne Sakowicz (Wauconda, Ill.) tallied 40 assists.

Up Next
The Seawolves return to tournament play this weekend as they head to Akron for three matches. Play will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. against Maryland followed by a match against Akron at 7 p.m. The Tournament play will then resume Sunday at 12 p.m. against Canisius.
