NEWTON, Mass. -- The Stony Brook women's soccer team stumbled at Boston College Wednesday evening, falling 3-0 at Newton Soccer Field. The Seawolves move to 2-3 on the year, while the Eagles now sit at 5-0. 

Faherty's Reaction 
"For 60 minutes we were involved in a great college soccer game with both teams having some success with the ball, but also unable to completely break down the other," said head coach Brendan Faherty. "Credit to Boston College for making the most of their opportunities. It's not surprising that at this point in the season they are still undefeated."

Our group will rest up, watch film and get back on the training field on Friday to prepare for a big match against St. John's on Sunday evening." 

Highlights
- Boston College got on the board early, putting away a ball served in from the top of the 18 in the 7th minute of play. 
- Senior Julie Johnstonbaugh (Neshanic Station, N.J.) tried to get things going early for the Seawolves, but sent a header high of the crossbar 18 minutes in. 
- After a water break midway through the first half due to heat, sophomore Fanny Gotesson (Varnamo, Sweden) fired a shot at the goal that was stopped by the Eagles' keeper. 
- Boston College took a 1-0 lead into halftime, and a slight 6-4 shooting edge. 
- The Eagles pulled away with back-to-back goals in the 62nd and 64th minutes to take the eventual game-winning 3-0 lead.
