COLORADO SPRINGS – The Stony Brook football team could not get past Air Force's triple option offensive attack and a pair of first-half weather delays in Saturday's 38-0 loss at Falcon Stadium on the campus of the United States Air Force Academy.
SCORING
- Air Force cracked the scoring column first on their opening possession when QB Arion Worthman ran it in from seven yards out with 10:21 left in the first quarter. The PAT was good by Matt Philichi.
- The Falcons added to their lead when Kyle Johnson returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown. The PAT by Matt Philichi was good.
- Matt Philichi tacked on a field goal from 48 yards out with 12:36 left in the second quarter.
- Air Force FB Cole Fagan scored a touchdown on a 16-yard rush with 6:37 left in the opening half. The PAT by Matt Philichi was good.
- The Falcons tacked on a fourth-quarter score with 13:45 left in the game when QB Isaiah Sanders scored on a one-yard run. The PAT by Matt Philichi was good.
- Air Force finished the scoring with a five-yard run by DJ Hammond with 2:40 left in the game. The PAT was good by Jake Koenkle.

- Stony Brook gained 75 yards of total offense on 50 plays. Air Force had 362 yards of total offense on 85 plays.
- The Seawolves had the ball for 19:33 minutes of the game.

"I'm certainly disappointed with the outcome. I think we were focused and ready to play, but we did not execute correctly. If you don't execute, specifically on offense, it is going to be a problem. We had some opportunities, but once we lost some confidence we did not really perform correctly."
NOTES
- DB EJ Fineran made the most of his first career start with a career-high seven tackles and a pair of fumble recoveries.
- LB Noah McGinty recorded a career-best afternoon with 14 tackles. His previous best was 13 against Maine and James Madison last season.
- DL John Haggart tied his career-best with 11 tackles. His other 11-tackle game was at Delaware in 2016.
- DL Sam Kamara also recorded a career-high in tackles on Saturday with seven. His previous high was five at USF last season.
- LBs Shayne Lawless and Noah McGinty extended their start streaks to 24 straight games. TE Cal Daniels extended his consecutive start streak to 16 games.
