STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- Senior
Serge Gamwanya (Trondheim, Norway) netted the game-winning goal to lead the Stony Brook men's soccer team past Bryant, 2-1 on Saturday night at LaValle Stadium.
With the win, the Seawolves move to 3-3-1 for the season. Bryant now sits at 0-5-1.
Quoting Head Coach Ryan Anatol
"It was a battle, we knew that coming into the game. Obviously they're looking for some results and we wanted a result as well," said Anatol. "In college soccer, the first part that you have to deal with is the battle, the physical part of the game. You want to try and get the ball down and move the ball and play soccer, but to be able to do that you have to deal with physical play."
Highlights
- The Seawolves and Bulldogs exchanged shots for much of the first half until the 19th minute when Gamwanya took a shot on goal but was denied by the Bryant keeper.
