STONY BROOK, N.Y- The Stony Brook women's cross country team will host the Wolfie Invitational Saturday, September 8th.
Stony Brook will be joined by Hofstra University, Seton Hall and Monroe College. The women will begin the day at 11:15 am with the 5000m.
"The second of our two home meets moves to the conference distance of 5000m, it is an opportunity to see where the people we sat out last week are with their fitness. The team has been slogging its way through this hot weather, with cooler conditions expected on Saturday I am hoping for them to feel like the work is paying off," said head coach Andy Ronan.
"The women's team will be made up of returners Annika Sisson, Clodagh O'Reilly, Ciara Murphy, Jillian Manfredi and freshmen Tara Hauff, Lily Hayes and Carley Vetter. This group is looking to start off on a positive foot like the group that competed last weekend," added Ronan.
Directions to Stony Brook's Cross Country Course:
From LIE: Exit 62 (97 north), Follow 97 North to 347(Nesconset Highway), take a left on 347, drive a 1/4 of mile and take a right on Stony Brook Road( Gas station on corner), go approximately 2 miles, take a left on to Development Drive. (Stony Brook University Research and Development Park) Follow road for 3/4 of a mile, course and parking will be on your left.
From Northern State Parkway head to 347, follow 347 east, turn left on Stony Brook Road, then follow the directions above.
From Ferry: Take 25A West (Approximately 7 miles), take left on Stony Brook Road, after 1/2 mile take a Right on to Development Drive. (Stony Brook University Research and Development Park). Follow road for 3/4 of a mile, course and parking will be on your left.
