DURHAM, N.H. – The Stony Brook women's basketball team kept things rolling in conference play, topping New Hampshire, 82-63, at Lundholm Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. The Seawolves now improve to 14-3 on the season and 3-1 in America East play.

"I thought we were very good offensively tonight as we had four players in double figures. We also shared the ball well with 25 assists. I thought we attacked the basket better than we have been and got to the free throw line, which was very important in our game plan."

HIGHLIGHTS
- Stony Brook only trailed New Hampshire for one minute and 26 seconds before tying things up 12-12 in the first quarter following a jumper by Gouchie-Provencher.
- The Seawolves stole the lead for good right after as Johnson sank a three at the midway point of the period en route to a 19-17 lead at the first break.
- The second quarter saw the team run out to a 27-17 lead following an 8-0 spurt – capped off by a three from Gouchie-Provencher – that forced the Wildcats to take a timeout.
- Heading into halftime with a 40-29 advantage, Gouchie-Provencher had already matched her previous career high in points (14) while Johnson tallied seven assists.
- Gouchie-Provencher was unstoppable on the floor in the third quarter as she collected nine points from 80 percent shooting.
- She notched a new career high just 46 seconds into the third after receiving a pass from freshman G Anastasia Warren (Atlanta, Ga.) and went on to make two more baskets in a row to increase Stony Brook's lead to 13.
- The Seawolves' biggest lead was by 24 (76-52) with 5:14 remaining in the contest as Johnson connected with Gouchie-Provencher.
- Johnson got her double-double at the 6:35 mark of the fourth quarter after dishing out her 10th assist to sophomore G/F Jonae Cox (Portsmouth, Va.), who put in a three to garner a season-high 10 points.
- The team had its best shooting of the season, hitting 53.6 percent from the floor including 53.8 percent from long range.
NOTES
- Along with her career high in points, Gouchie-Provencher was just one rebound away from tying her career's best in rebounds (10).
- Cox had career highs in rebounds (7) and assists (5) in addition to her season's best in points (10).
- Stony Brook kept New Hampshire well below its rebounding average (31.8) as the Wildcats were only able to haul in 22 boards on the day.
- The Seawolves scored 36 in the paint, 17 off of second chance opportunities and 15 from turnovers.
- Johnson, the national leader in assists, now ranks fifth in program history in both career assists (308) and single-season assists (139).
