Nick Courtney's (East Meadow, N.Y./WT Clark) 22-yard field goal as time expired lifted the Stony Brook football team to a 36-35 come-from-behind victory over fifth-ranked Villanova on Saturday afternoon at Villanova Stadium in a CAA Football game.
The Seawolves (5-3, 2-2 CAA Football) scored a touchdown with 1:32 remaining to cut the deficit to two points and then forced the Wildcats (6-2, 3-2 CAA Football) to punt the ball away with 0:21 on the clock. Stony Brook proceeded to march down the field with no time outs remaining to set up the field goal.

Nick Anderson (Lakewood, Calif./Lakewood) 40-yards down the field to the Villanova five-yard line with seconds remaining to set up the kick.
Stony Brook trailed Villanova 28-10 at halftime and outscored the Wildcats 26-7 in the second half to pull off the program's second victory over a Top 5 team.
SCORING
- Stony Brook cracked the scoring column first when QB Tyquell Fields scrambled 15 yards into the left corner of the end zone with 10:15 left in the first quarter. The PAT by K Nick Courtney was good. The drive was five plays for 44 yards and too 2:03 off the clock. The drive started when DB EJ Fineran blocked a Villanova punt that was recovered at the 44-yard line.
- Villanova evened the score with a trick play that saw WR Jason Hayek complete a pass to QB Daniel Smith and Smith ran 68 yards to the end zone with 2:34 left in the first quarter. The PAT by K Drew Kresge was good. The drive was eight plays for 99 yards and took 3:39 off the clock.
- The Wildcats took the lead when RB TD Ayo-Durojaiye scored on a 24-yard run with 13:32 left in the second quarter. The PAT by K Drew Kresge was good. The drive was five plays for 77 yards and took 2:26 off the clock.
- K Nick Courtney tacked on a 28-yard field goal for the Seawolves with 10:41 remaining in the second quarter. The drive was eight plays for 67 yards and took 2:46 off the clock. A 36-yard pass from QB Tyquell Fields to WR Nick Anderson helped set up the scoring play.

- K Nick Courtney nailed a 25-yard field goal with 13:39 remaining in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 15 points. The drive was five plays for 16 yards and began when DB Randy Pringle recovered a Villanova fumble of the kickoff to start the second half.
- Stony Brook chipped seven more off of Villanova's lead when RB Ty Son Lawton scored on a 10-yard run up the middle with 9:48 left in the third quarter. The PAT by K Nick Courtney was good.
