STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook women's basketball team earned an exciting win at home in front of its fans at the Island Federal Arena on Friday night, topping Manhattan by a score of 59-54.

Down by two with 6:26 left in the contest, the Seawolves went on a 10-point run to put the game out of reach for the Jaspers and to improve to 2-0 on the season.Â

HIGHLIGHTS
- The run that lifted the team to victory was sparked by five-straight points from sophomore G Anastasia Warren (Atlanta, Ga.).
- Warren put in a layup on the fast break to tie the game at 51-51 and then splashed in a three to give Stony Brook the lead for good.
- The Seawolves entered the second half down by three, but found its first lead of the game in the third quarter thanks to a layup from graduate student G Kaela Hilaire (Queens, N.Y.) which followed a clutch triple from junior G/F Hailey Zeise (Pittsburgh, Pa.).
- Warren led the scoring charge for the home team with 13 points.
- Graduate student F Cheyenne Clark (Deptford, N.J.) notched a double-double from 10 points and 10 rebounds and also earned six steals.
- Zeise was near a double-double herself, recording nine points and eight rebounds.Â
- Hilaire also had a productive night with 10 points, seven assists, five rebounds and four steals.
- The Jaspers had its biggest lead of the game at the 8:05 mark of the second period, holding a 10-point advantage.Â

- Clark's six steals are a new career high and Zeise's eight rebounds tie her career's best.
- Stony Brook out-rebounded Manhattan by a 45-27Â margin and forced the Jaspers into 22 turnovers.
- From those turnovers, the Seawolves notched 24 points.
- Stony Brook now leads the all-time series with Manhattan, 4-3.
- Head coach Caroline McCombs is now just 11 wins away from her 100th at Stony Brook.
