STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Redshirt senior WR
Nick Anderson (Lakewood, Calif./Lakewood) became the fifth player on Stony Brook football history to collected over 200 yards receiving in a game when he pulled down 205 yards on Saturday afternoon, but the Seawolves fell to visiting Towson in a CAA Football contest at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
Anderson fell just short of the school record of 216 set in 2001 and became the first player since 2012 to accomplish the feat. Redshirt junior QB
Tyquell Fields (Yonkers, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) threw for 241 yards and a pair of touchdowns, both to Anderson.
SCORING
- Towson opened the scoring with a 29-yard field goal by K Aiden O'Neill with 0:40 remaining in the first quarter. The drive was 10 plays for 68 yards and took 5:18 off the clock.
- Stony Brook took the lead when QB Tyquell Fields found WR Nick Anderson in stride for a 44-yard strike and a Seawolves touchdown with 7:19 remaining in the second quarter. The PAT by K Nick Courtney was good. The drive was five plays for 80 yards and took 2:33 off the clock.
- The Tigers jumped back on top when WR Shane Leatherbury rushed 12 yards into the end zone with 4:43 left in the second quarter. The PAT by K Aiden O'Neill was good. The drive was five plays for 60 yards and took 2:30 off the clock.
- Towson added to their first-half lead when RB Yeedee Thaenrat punched it into the end zone from one yard out with 0:38 left in the second quarter. The PAT by K Aiden O'Neill was good. The drive was seven plays for 51 yards and took 2:25 off the clock.
- The Tigers struck first in the second half when QB Tom Flacco found WR Shane Leatherbury in the corner of the end zone with a 12-yard pass with 12:14 remaining in the third quarter. The PAT by K Aiden O'Neill was good. The drive was six plays for 69 yards and took 2:17 off the clock.
- The Seawolves inched closer when QB Tyquell Fields found WR Nick Anderson in the back corner of the end zone with a two-yard pass on a fourth down play with 2:27 left in the third quarter. The PAT by K Nick Courtney was good. The drive was nine plays for 39 yards and took 2:56 off the clock. The drive started with a blocked punt by TE Anthony Del Negro and was sparked by a 29-yard pass and catch play from Fields to Anderson.
- Towson answered with a 68-yard catch and run touchdown from QB Tom Flacco to WR Darian Street with 11:02 left in the fourth quarter. The PAT by K Aiden O'Neill was good. The drive was six plays for 91 yards and took 3:48 off the clock.

- Stony Brook gained 382 yards of total offense on 61 plays. Towson had 462 yards of total offense on 75 plays.
- The Seawolves had the ball for 20:52 minutes of the game.

- WR Nick Anderson's 205 Receiving yards on Saturday marked the fifth 200-plus yard receiving game in Stony Brook history and the first since Kevin Norrell pulled down 214 yards against Charleston Southern on Oct. 6, 2012. His total marks his third 100-plus game of his career and this season.
- QB Tyquell Fields tossed his 12th and 13th touchdown passes of the season and his 14th and 15th of his career on Saturday afteroon. The both scoring passes went to WR Nick Anderson.
- QB Tyquell Fields tossed a pair of touchdown passes on Saturday to mark the third multi-touchdown passing game of his career.
- WR Nick Anderson scored his second and third touchdown receptions of the season and third and fourth of his career on Saturday afternoon. He pulled down a 44-yard pass from QB Tyquell Fields in the second quarter and a two-yard pass from Fields in the third quarter.
- WR Nick Anderson pulled down multiple touchdown receptions on Saturday for the first time in his career.
- TE Anthony Del Negro blocked a Towson punt in the third quarter for Stony Brook's second blocked punt of the season and third blocked kick. The Seawolves also blocked a punt against Villanova and blocked a field goal attempt against Richmond. Today's blocked punt was recovered by LB Souleymane Camara.
- LB Reidgee Dimanche recorded a career-best 13 tackles on Saturday against Towson. His previous career-high was 12 against James Madison earlier this season.
- DB Synceir Malone collected a career-high 14 tackles against Towson, besting his previous high of 10 against New Hampshire earlier this season.
- OL Mason Zimmerman extended his consecutive starts streak to 41 games, while DB Gavin Heslop extended his streak to 35 straight games. DB Augie Contressa extended his consecutive start streak to 21 games. DL Casey Williams extended his streak to 18, while OL Kyle Nunez and DL Brandon Lopez added to their streak to make it 16 straight starts now.
- WR Shawn Harris Jr. started on Saturday for the first time in his career. He is the 16th Seawolf to start for the first time this season.
- DL Jovani Duran made his first appearance in a game to become the 12th different Seawolf to made their collegiate debut this season.
- Stony Brook won the toss and deferred to the second half.
- Captains for Saturday's game were DL Sam Kamara, RB Isaiah White and DB Gavin Heslop.
- Today's honorary captains were Miguel and Roberto Tillman.
