Francese Secures Women's Soccer's First Scholar All-American Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The firsts continued for the Stony Brook women's soccer program on Tuesday as junior forward Alyssa Francese took home the program's first Scholar All-American honor from the United Soccer Coaches.

Francese, a second-team honoree, holds a 3.78 GPA as a business major and is the America East's lone representative from the 2019 season. She also earned all-region honors from the United Soccer Coaches as well as America East Striker of the Year and first-team all-conference accolades.

The junior striker finished with a league-leading 12 goals this past season. She also helped lead Stony Brook to its second America East tournament title in three seasons and its second consecutive America East regular-season trophy. The Seawolves tied the program record with 14 wins, in 21 games.
