MIAMI – Down to the team's final strike, junior
Michael Wilson (Colonia, N.J.) was not phased. He calmly ripped a 2-2 pitch over the wall to put the Stony Brook baseball team up 7-6 in the top of the ninth, a lead that would stand, to give the Seawolves their second win in as many nights in the Sunshine State.
Wilson finished the night 3-for-5, while junior
Nick Grande (Smithtown, N.Y.) also recorded three hits in five trips to the plate. Sophomore
John Tuccillo (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) added a multi-hit night as well, going 2-for-4. Junior
Brandon Bonanno (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) recorded his second career win, and first since 2017, while sophomore
Connor Clark (Manorville, N.Y.) picked up his second career save.
SENK'S REACTION
"Tonight's timely hits didn't happen as often as last night, but Mike Wilson's game-winning home run was as clutch as it gets. We got other clutch performances from our pitchers, as
Brandon Bonanno and
Connor Clark were tremendous out of the bullpen. Overall, it was an extremely gritty, hard fought victory by our club."
