Akwasi Yeboah (Chigwell, England), the Stony Brook men's basketball team grinded out a 66-64 win against New Hampshire, improving to 9-2 in America East play and 21-5 overall on the season.
Garcia finished the night with 15 points and 10 rebounds, but the Wildcats had a chance to win it at the buzzer with a three from the right wing and it clanked off front iron to give Stony Brook the victory. Freshman

"I'm really proud of our guys for finding a way to win a game. New Hampshire has played tough all year long, especially at home. When you go into someone else's gym, you have to raise your level of energy and intensity. We feel very fortunate to come out with a win in what became a dogfight."
HIGHLIGHTS
- Stony Brook fell behind early, with New Hampshire scoring six of the game's first nine points to take an early advantage.
- The Seawolves responded with an 8-0 run to take the lead. Freshman Miles Latimer (Fairfax, Va.) scored five in a row and then Cornish added a shot from outside to make it 11-6 Seawolves with 14:17 left in the half.
- Sophomore Jeff Otchere (Bronx, N.Y.) dunked home a Latimer feed with 11:18 to go in the half and Stony Brook's lead would grow to its largest point of the night at six.
- UNH rallied with eight in a row to retake the lead, but Yeboah's layup inside made it 19 apiece with 7:34 left. Neither team would lead by more than three as the teams went into the locker room deadlocked at 26.
- Stony Brook came out of the half strong, scoring the first five and eight of the first 11 points to increase the lead to 34-29 with 17:51 left, but the Wildcats would again come back.
- After five in a row to tie the game, the Seawolves put another stretch together of six in a row to make it 40-34 road team after a pair of Moor free throws.
- UNH doubled up Stony Brook over the following 5:19, with David Watkins' three putting New Hampshire up 54-50, their largest lead of the afternoon.
- An 11-3 run punctuated by Garcia's dunk with 3:46 left put the Seawolves up 63-59.
- A pair of missed free throws down the stretch allowed New Hampshire to have a chance at the end, but a three at the buzzer went off front iron to send Stony Brook home with a win.

- Stony Brook's win gives them 12 true road victories on the season, the most in the conference.
- The Seawolves hold strong in second place, staying a half-game ahead of UMBC in the America East standings.
- Garcia's double-double is his third of the second, and second in the last four games. His 15 points are also the most against an America East opponent for him.
- The Harlem, N.Y. is shooting 85.7 percent (18/21) from the free throw line in his last six games.
- Saturday's win is the 12thby single digits and 11thby seven points or less.The Seawolves are 11-2 in games decided by seven or less.
- Moor's 10-point outing is his highest against America East opposition and his first time in double figures since scoring a career-high 14 against Northern Iowa.
