STONY BROOK, N.Y.- The Stony Brook softball team is set to travel to Washington, D.C. for more tournament play this weekend. The Seawolves will face George Washington, Georgetown, and Oakland. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Seawolves are coming off a 1-4 weekend at the FAU/FIU Tournament. The team fell to Yale 8-2, FAU 7-3, FIU 3-0, North Dakota State 7-0, and got its first victory of the season against Florida A&M. Stony Brook defeated the Rattlers 11-1, which was led by a grand slam by Alina Lance (New Athens, Ill.) and a two-run homer by Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.). Taylor Pechin (Harrington, Del.) had a strong performance in the circle pitching in all six innings, only giving up the one run. 
 
SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
The Colonials enter the tournament with an 18-3 record on the season. They are coming off five wins at the Colonial Classic. Those wins came against Canisius twice, UMBC, and Manhattan twice. Sierra Lange leads George Washington in hits with 34, and has pitched in 83.2 innings with a 1.67 ERA.
 
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
The Hoyas enter the tournament with a 6-17 record on the season. They are coming off of a 1-4 record at the JU/UNF Spring Break Challenge. Their lone win came against Charleston Southern, and their losses were at the hands of La Salle, Jacksonville, Ball State University and UNC Wilmington. Freshman infielder Mae Forshey leads Georgetown with 23 hits, and sophomore London Diller has seen most of the action in the circle pitching in 51.2 innings.
 
SCOUTING OAKLAND
The Golden Grizzlies enter the tournament with a 4-7 record on the season. The team is coming off two wins and loss at the Elon Softball March Invitational.  The victories were against Lafayette College and Elon, and the defeat was at the hands of La Salle. Senior infielder Brittney Miller leads Oakland in batting average (.576) and hits with 19. In the circle, sophomore Lauryn Debono has seen most of the action pitching in 27.1 innings holding a 2.30 ERA.
 
THE HITS KEEP COMING FOR HERING
Jourdin Hering (Federal Way, Wash.) leads the team with three multi-hit games this season. In those games she has recorded two hits. 
 
OSMER HAS BREAKOUT WEEKEND
Freshman Lindsey Osmer (Martinez, Calif.) recorded six hits in 13 at bats at the FAU/FIU Tournament.
 
CLUTCH RAHRICH
Junior Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) leads the team with eight RBIs on the season. Rahrich drove half of those runs in at the FAU/FIU Tournament. 
 
ON DECK
The Seawolves will face Fordham on Tuesday in their home opener at 1 pm.
