STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook baseball team looks to extend its win streak to five on Tuesday afternoon, playing a recently-added midweek contest with Army West Point just north of New York City.
The Seawolves are coming off a weekend sweep of UMBC to open America East play, outscoring the Retrievers 21-11 on the weekend. Junior
Michael Wilson (Colonia, N.J.) led Stony Brook at the plate, driving in nine runs in total, with four coming in game one on Saturday and another four in the series finale on Sunday.
Junior
Sam Turcotte (Toronto, Ontario) recorded a win and save on the weekend, throwing a total of 3.2 scoreless innings in relief while striking out four UMBC batters.
ABOUT THE BLACK KNIGHTS
Army enters its midweek contests with a 9-8 record, winning two of three against Ohio over the weekend in Athens, Ohio. The Knights took the first two from the Bobcats before surrendering the series finale 1-0. Trey Martin is hitting .377 in 14 starts this season, leading Army West Point at the plate. He also leads the team with two home runs and is fourth with 11 RBI on the year. Anthony Giachin (.309), Jeremiah Adams (.303) and Andre Walden (.302) are all hitting above .300 for Army West Point.
On the hill, Tyler Giovinco has made five starts for the Black Knights, currently holding a 2.81 ERA in 32 innings, yielding a 3-1 record on the year. Cam Opp has made six appearances out of the bullpen and has yet to surrender a run in 13.2 innings.
THE SERIES WITH THE BLACKBIRDS
This will be the first matchup since the 2011 season between the Seawolves and Black Knights and Stony Brook has won five of the six overall meetings.

Stony Brook has a non-conference series on tap for this weekend, playing four with Sacred Heart starting Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Three of the four will be played at Joe Nathan Field, with Sunday's series finale slated for across the sound in Bridgeport, Conn.
