STONY BROOK, N.Y. – With a weekend off from America East competition, the Stony Brook baseball team will play a home-and-home series with a regional foe, welcoming Sacred Heart for a pair of games Friday and Saturday before going across the sound on Sunday afternoon to finish the set in Bridgeport, Conn.
The Seawolves have rattled off five wins in a row and hit five homers in their latest victory, a 13-4 victory over Army West Point on Tuesday afternoon in West Point, N.Y. Junior
Chris Hamilton (Schenectady, N.Y.) had two of the five long balls, increasing his season total to four on the year.

THE OPPONENT
The Pioneers opened league play last weekend in the Northeast Conference, taking two of three from defending NEC champ LIU Brooklyn before taking down Rhode Island in a midweek contest, 6-5.
Austin Markmann reached base in three of his five plate appearances, drawing a pair of walks and driving a triple in a two-RBI effort. Thomas Pinto received his first win of the season in a three-inning outing in which he struck out five.Â
Stephen Thibault leads the Pioneers at the plate, hitting .316 with 18 hits in 57 at-bats and seven RBI on the year, which is second on the Sacred Heart leaderboard. Cooper Thompson has won three of his four starts on the season, recording a 5.76 ERA in those starts with 18 strikeouts in 25 innings.

THE SERIES
Stony Brook leads the all-time series 21-7, including a two-game sweep of the Pioneers last season. That included a 17-7 home win in the second game last season in which the Seawolves scored seven in the third and six in the eighth.
BOMBS AWAY
Entering the season, Stony Brook had one game in which they hit three home runs and it was the win against Sacred Heart last season. So far, they have already hit three in a pair of games, launching four against Florida International in the season-opener and hitting five against the Black Knights on Tuesday afternoon. Junior M
ichael Wilson (Colonia, N.J.) leads the way with five on the season, with Hamilton right behind him with four.
A GRAND(E) STRETCH
JuniorÂ
Nick Grande (Smithtown, N.Y.) has started to swing the bat very well, currently riding a nine-game hitting streak and is has recorded hits in 15 of his last 30 at-bats. Entering the weekend the junior has a .457 on-base percentage and is hitting .367 from the leadoff spot.

Stony Brook's midweek contest is in Piscataway, N.J. on Tuesday afternoon when the Seawolves take on Rutgers at 3 p.m.
