STONY BROOK, N.Y.- The Stony Brook softball team is set to open up conference play this weekend when they travel to Hartford on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 1 pm, and then have a single game on Sunday at 12 pm.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Seawolves are coming off of a 25-6 offensive explosion win at St. John's. In the victory, the team got grand slams from Alina Lance (New Athens, Ill.), Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) and Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.). Stony Brook also got solo homers from Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.) and Riley Craig (Thornton, Colo.). To cap off the strong performance by the offense, the Seawolves scored 14 runs in the top of the seventh.
 
SCOUTING HARTFORD
The Hawks are coming off of two wins against Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday. The team defeated the Knights 4-2 in the first game, and then 7-1 in the second game of the day. Sophomore Danielle Rocheleau leads Hartford in batting average (.492) and hits (31). Julianna Kocenski has seen most of the action in the circle pitching in 73 innings, owning a 4.70 ERA.
 
HISTORIC HOMERS
In the win against St. John's, the five home runs in the game are a new program record.
 
WALKING TO NEW RECORDS
In the win against St. John's, the team walked 18 times, which is a new program record in a single game.   
 
GOING THE DISTANCE
Rahrich leads the team with nine complete games in the circle. 
 
IN THE RANKS
Stony Brook leads the America East in batting average (.303), Rahrich is first in RBIs (27) and second in home runs (7), and Corr is third in batting average (.400).

ON DECK
The Seawolves will return home Tuesday, and face Wagner at 2 pm.
