STONY BROOK, N.Y.- The Stony Brook softball team is set to continue conference play this weekend, when the team hosts UMass Lowell for three games. The series will begin with a 1 pm doubleheader on Saturday, followed by a single game on Sunday at 12 pm.
 
Prior to game one of the doubleheader on Saturday, Stony Brook will honor its seniors for Senior Day.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Seawolves are coming off of a 6-3 win against UMBC on Wednesday. In the victory,  Jordyn Nowakowski (San Diego, Calif.) and Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.) hit solo home runs, and Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) hit a big three-run homer to extend the team's lead. Rahrich also had a solid performance in the circle, only giving up two earned runs. 
 
SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL
The Riverhawks enter the weekend with a 24-14 record (12-0 AE). The team is coming off of a 9-0 win against Hartford on Wednesday. Junior infielder Courtney Cashman leads UMass Lowell in batting average (.538) and hits (56). Sophomore Lovina Capria has seen most of the action in the circle pitching in 125.2 innings, owning a 2.12 ERA.
 
GOING THE DISTANCE
Rahrich leads the team with 19 complete games in the circle. Shelbi Denman (Las Vegas, Nev.) has seven and Taylor Pechin (Harrington, Del.) has two.
 
KEEP THE STREAK
Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) has reached base safely in 25 straight games.
 
IN THE NATIONAL RANKS
Rahrich is number one in the nation in toughest to strikeout. She only has one in 121 at bats. 
 
ON DECK
The Seawolves welcome Manhattan to University Field on Tuesday for a doubleheader starting at 2 pm.
