STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook men's basketball team and head coach Geno Ford have announced the signing of Dayton transfer and Long Island Lutheran graduate Frankie Policelli.
 
"We are excited to bring Frankie to Stony Brook," Ford said. "We recruited him hard out of high school and now the timing is right for him to become a Seawolf. He can help us greatly with his ability to shoot and his size and length are uncommon for a plyer at his position in our league. He's also coming with something to prove which is exciting for both him and our program."
 
Policelli joins the Seawolves after one season with the Flyers, making 20 appearances last season for a Dayton squad that went 21-12 and earned a bid in the National Invitation Tournament.
 
He played his senior season of high school at Long Island Lutheran, averaging 12.2 points and six rebounds per game as a senior. He shot very efficiently in his final season, making 40 percent of his shots from long range and 86 percent from the charity stripe.
 
Policelli joins Mouhamadou Gueye, Tyler Stephenson-Moore and Tavin Pierre Philippe as Ford's opening recruiting class.
