Regular Season Comes to Close as Seawolves Fall to UMass Lowell

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook baseball team fell in its regular-season finale on Saturday afternoon, dropping the final game of the weekend to UMass Lowell at Joe Nathan Field.
 
The Seawolves finish the regular season 28-21 and 15-9 in league play, securing the No. 1 seed in the upcoming America East Championship.

GAME SUMMARY
  • The lone Seawolves run came home in the fourth when sophomore John Tuccillo (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) sprinted 90 feet from third on a wild pitch.
STATS AND NOTES
  • Senior Sean Buckhout (West Nyack, N.Y.) has reached in 16 consecutive games after a second-inning single, the longest current streak on the team.
  • Junior Jared Milch (Pacifica, Calif.) allowed three runs on three hits in five innings of work, striking out six River Hawk batters.
  • The Seawolves finished the season 13-5 at home.
