STONY BROOK, N.Y.- The Stony Brook softball team is set to close out the regular season at Maine this weekend. The teams will play a doubleheader starting at 1 pm on Friday followed by a single game on Saturday at noon.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Seawolves are coming off of a doubleheader sweep against Manhattan on Tuesday. In the victories, Shelbi Denman (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) picked up wins in the circle. 
 
SCOUTING MAINE
The Black Bears enter the weekend with an 11-27 record (3-11 AE). The team is coming off a series loss to Binghamton. Senior infielder Laurine German leads Maine in batting average (.324) and hits (33).  Freshman Emily Reid has seen most of the action in the circle pitching in 84.2 innings, owning a 5.31 ERA.
 
GOING THE DISTANCE
Rahrich leads the team with 22 complete games in the circle. Denman has eight and Taylor Pechin (Harrington, Del.) has two. 
 
IN THE CONFERENCE RANKS
Stony Brook leads the America East in batting average (.294) and pitching (2.53 ERA). Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) is first in runs scored (46), and Rahrich leads in rbis (52) and home runs (15). 

RECORD SETTING RAHRICH
Rahrich has 52 rbis which ties Bria Greene (2015) for most in a single season. The junior is also tied for third in home runs (15) in a single season with Kristen Brust (2004) and fourth in single season batting average (.409).

ON DECK
The Seawolves will head to Hartford for the America East Championships on Wednesday, May 8 through Saturday, May 11.
