STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- It is not everyday that you have a player named preseason All-America that has never played even one snap for you, but in the case of graduate transfer Jean Constant and the Stony Brook football program, that is exactly what happened.

STATS FCS named Constant, slated to be the Seawolves kick returner and wide receiver in 2019, a first team Preseason All-American, it was announced on Tuesday.

Constant came to Stony Brook with a reputation as one of the elite returners in the game. During his career a Bryant University, the Delray Beach, Fla., native amassed nearly 1,700 return yards and 23 touchdowns. He went on to garner All-America honors in both 2017 and 2018, including from STATS FCS.

Constant and the Seawolves reported to camp on Tuesday and begin practice on Wednesday in preparation for the season-opener against Constant's former school on Aug. 29 in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. 

The Seawolves home slate at LaValle Stadium also includes in-state rivals Wagner and Fordham in September. CAA Football opponents come to town beginning October 5th for a Homecoming matchup vs. James Madison. Other conference games include New Hampshire, Towson and UAlbany.
