Golden Seawolves Strike Again as Lee Scores Overtime Winner at LaValle

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – With 15 seconds left on the overtime clock, the ball fell to No. 15 and she decided that would be the appropriate time to score her first career goal.

Senior Francesca Lee (Webster, N.Y.) chipped the keeper off a corner and the Stony Brook women's soccer team won its third overtime game of the season with a 1-0 victory over Fordham at LaValle Stadium on Thursday night.

BISCHOF'S REACTION
"It's a good team, Fordham. They just tied Syracuse, a Power 5 team. They came in here confident. They were well-coached and organized. They made it really hard on us. We thought we had a good gameplan to be honest but, even though it did not work that well, we were still able to get the win."

SCORING SUMMARY
  • 100th minute – Freshman Paula Petri (Viersen, Germany) played a corner to the penalty spot, where junior Rachel Florenz (East Islip, N.Y.) to the back post and Lee was there to hit it over the keeper for the victory.
