BOSTON – The Stony Brook women's soccer team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday night, falling to Boston University
2-0 on the road.
Juniors
Rachel Florenz (East Islip, N.Y.) and
Alyssa Francese (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) both put a pair of shots on frame but nobody could beat a hot Terriers keeper, who made five saves on the night.

SCORING SUMMARY
- 36th minute – Boston University 1, Stony Brook 0 – The hosts struck first on a long shot from outside the box that went off the hand of an outstretched Sofia Manner (Helsinki, Finland) and into the right side of the net.
- 81st minute – Boston University 2, Stony Brook 0 – The home team doubled its lead late in the second half, with a long volley that dipped to hit the underside of the crossbar and into the net.
STATS AND NOTES
- Manner finished the night with six saves.
- Stony Brook was outshot 17-14 and was not able to find the net with its five shots on frame.
- The Seawolves were able to pressure BU with nine corners, including seven in the second half.
UP NEXT
Stony Brook finishes its three-game road trip on Sunday afternoon when they head to Delaware State for a 1 p.m. kickoff in Dover.
