DOVER, Del. – Starting the scoring at the midway point of the first half, the Stony Brook women's soccer team's offense caught fire with a season-high five goals to roll to a 5-0 win at Delaware State on Sunday afternoon.
Junior
Alyssa Francese (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) finished the afternoon with a pair of goals to lead four different players that found the net for the visitors.

- 27th minute – Stony Brook 1, Delaware State 0 – Junior Alyssa Francese (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) started the scoring after finishing a rebound in front.
- 37th minute – Stony Brook 2, Delaware State 0 – Sophomore Arianna Barbieri (East Setauket, N.Y.) struck to double the lead with a shot straight on from 20 yards.
- 45th minute – Stony Brook 3, Delaware State 0 – In the waning minutes of the half, junior Rachel Florenz (East Islip, N.Y.) finished a point-blank chance to make it three in the first period.
- 47th minute – Stony Brook 4, Delaware State 0 – Junior Erin O'Connor fed a perfect cross to classmate Fanny Gotesson (Varnamo, Sweden) who was able to put it home from close.
- 67th minute – Stony Brook 5, Delaware State 0 – Francese's second of the game came off a feed from freshman Paula Petri (Viersen, Germany) to finish the scoring for the Seawolves.
STATS AND NOTES
- The Seawolves outshot Delaware State 26-1, with a 15-0 advantage in the second half.
- Francese's brace increases her season total to six goals in 11 games in 2019.
- Gotesson now sits second on the team after her three-point day. She had her second goal and third assist of the campaign.
- Stony Brook's defense recorded its fourth clean sheet of the season and third in its last four outings.
- Freshman Rachael Peters (West Linn, Ore.) and sophomore Tatum Kauka (Wahiawa, Hawaii) recorded their first points of 2019, combining on Florenz's goal.
- Stony Brook had nine corner kicks to Delaware State's three.
- The last time the Seawolves won six non-conference games in the regular season was the 2012 campaign.
