LOWELL, Mass. — On Day 2 at Lowell, the Stony Brook women's basketball team grabbed a lead and then kept pressing on the accelerator.
The Seawolves opened a dozen-point advantage at halftime en route to a 60-44 win against host UMass Lowell on Monday afternoon to split the back-to-back games.
"I thought we were consistent for four quarters today and got contributions across the board," coach
Caroline McCombs said. "UMass Lowell is a gritty and tough team and we needed to stay locked in to play a complete game. This was a great way to close out the series, and we look forward to competing again this weekend at UMBC."
The River Hawks had overcome Stony Brook's 16-point lead to post a 63-60 victory in Sunday's opener.
On Monday,
Leighah-Amori Wool led the Seawolves with 15 points. She also contributed seven rebounds.
Asiah Dingle and
India Pagan had 11 points apiece.
Stony Brook (5-3, 3-1 AE) returns to action next weekend with a pair of games at UMBC.
