SIOUX FALL, S.D. — Stony Brook football alum
Julius Wingate has found a new opportunity to continue his playing career.
The senior on the 2018 Seawolves squad has signed a deal to play for the
Sioux Falls Storm, a member of the Indoor Football League team.
Wingate completed his Stony Brook career with 53 catches for 647 yards and six touchdowns. His best season with the Seawolves came as a senior when he pulled down 40 receptions for 556 yard and six scores to help guide Stony Brook to its second consecutive FCS playoff appearance.
Wingate will be a receiver for the Storm.
The franchise has been part of the IFL since the league's formation in 2008 and has claimed 11 league championships.
Sioux Falls and Wingate will play 14 regular-season games in 2020. They open the season March 15 against the Bismark Bucks.
