ORONO, Maine — Graduate student
Alyssa Francese inched closer to the Stony Brook women's soccer all-time scoring record but the Seawolves were not able to get any additional offense going, falling 4-1 at Maine on Sunday afternoon in America East women's soccer action.
The Yorktown Heights, N.Y., native scored her 42nd career goal, which ties her for second all-time on the career goals list. The third-minute tally brought the visitors even after Maine scored 38 seconds in, but the host Black Bears would rattle off three in a row after that to earn the victory.
Stony Brook remains at six points on America East play at 2-3-0 in league contests this season.
