LANGLEY, B.C. — Caleb Pearson will be reunited with his brother on their hometown box lacrosse team this summer.

Pearson, junior midfielder with the Stony Brook men's lacrosse team, was selected in the first round (sixth overall) by the Langley Thunder on Thursday night in the 2021 Western Lacrosse Association Graduating Junior Player Draft.

The seven-team, semi-pro Senior A summer box lacrosse league is based on the West Coast of Canada.

"I am super-pumped about playing for my local organization, which I have played with my entire box lacrosse career," said Pearson, who opens the college lacrosse season with the Seawolves on Saturday at noon against Sacred Heart at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. "Another thing that I am super-excited about is that my older brother Johnny is on the Langley Senior A Thunder. So I will have a chance to finally play alongside and with my older brother."

Pearson, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound junior, scored all three of Stony Brook's overtime game-winners last season, against St. John's, Brown and Sacred Heart. He tallied 15 goals in seven games. An environmental studies major, he also earned a spot on the America East Honor Roll.
