HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — The Stony Brook and Hofstra men's soccer teams played in a downpour on Sunday afternoon.

Unfortunately for the Seawolves, they suffered a 4-1 loss to the Pride in the Battle of Long Island.

Hofstra tallied goals in the 13th and 41st minutes against goalkeeper Edmond Kaiser. Sophomore goalkeeper Curtis Copenhaver then made his collegiate debut in the second half in goal.

Aki Solvason got Stony Brook on the scoreboard in the 88th minute. The freshman from Iceland had tallied his first career goal in the season opener against St. John's.
