STONY BROOK, N.Y. — An impressive week for the Stony Brook men's basketball team in terms of adding talent became even better on Thursday night.
Six-foot guard Jahlil Jenkins has signed with the Seawolves as a graduate transfer from Fairleigh Dickinson.
Jenkins has accumulated 1,698 points during his collegiate career — more than any student-athlete in the NEC or America East during that four-season span.
During his four-year career with the Knights, Jenkins averaged 14.4 points, 4.0 assists and 1.6 steals in 118 games (114 starts). He shot 38.9 percent from three-point range over his final two seasons.
A Ranson, W.Va., native, Jenkins was named to the NABC All-District first team and is a two-time second-team All-Northeast Conference selection.
Jenkins' addition comes on the heels of the return of
Elijah Olaniyi after a season at Miami as well as the signing of Anthony Roberts as a transfer from St. Bonaventure.
"We are thrilled to add a player with Jahlil's skill set to our team," Stony Brook coach
Geno Ford said. "He has had an unbelievable run at FDU. We feel he can come in and give our team a real boost. He can impact the game in a variety of ways, and he has had a real knack for playing well in huge games. He is simply a winner and will be a welcome addition to the program."
