STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Stony Brook's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has a new slate of leaders.

Eric DiCrescenzo and Tara Hauff have been elected SAAC co-presidents.

They will be joined by a board that includes Chelsie DePonte (women's soccer), Shane Henderson (track and field), Jessica Salmon (swimming and diving), Rebecca Lietzau (track and field), Leah Feato (women's soccer) and Shauna Nuss (softball).

DiCrescenzo, currently a redshirt junior long snapper with the football team, is a journalism major from Westmont, N.J. He has appeared each of the last three semesters on the CAA Football Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and will intern this summer at WBCB, a Levittown, Pa.-based sports radio station.

Hauff, a junior history and Spanish major from West Babylon, competes with Stony Brook track and field and cross country. She posted a career-best 4:36.76 in the 1500 meters to earn the win at the Wolfie Invitational on April 23 at University Track and is a fixture on the America East Academic Honor Roll.

"During my leadership, I hope for us to continue to run events and initiatives that truly matter to our student-athletes and our society as a whole," DiCrescenzo said. "I feel like our entire E-Board is strong enough to make this next year a true success. Another goal is to ensure that SAAC remains just as fun and enjoyable as it has been under our past leadership while I've been involved."

Said Hauff: "I'm so thankful for the opportunity to work alongside my peers and fellow student-athletes. I strive to to create a positive atmosphere that encourages student-athletes to achieve success both on and off the field."
